Our story so far

... and then they got married!

Our story began on Twitter—yes, you read that correctly. Panji accidentally followed the wrong George (who turned out to be Mr Right) while looking for an old friend. George disputes this version of events for absolutely no reason at all. In the end, Panji decided this George was funny and they became friends. Months down the road, George (living in the Isle of Man at the time) travelled to Leeds to meet Panji on the 27/12/2019 and the rest is history. It's been quite the adventure so far, with many twists and turns. It certainly has not been boring. They found a shared love for adventure, food, travelling, sitting on the sofa for hours on end and enjoying the bevvies. The one thing they cannot agree on is film and TV series genres. George enjoys a bit of everything- action, drama, adventure, comedy etc. Panji will only watch crime dramas and anything with a serious tone. It's okay though, George sleeps through Panji's viewing, so everyone wins.

The first in person meeting and the first ever photo is us together. Photo taken on Panji's dodgy "Mchenga Mchenga" phone camera, from a phone that she "borrowed" from her dad. The phone is alive and well, kept in a box for sentimental value. It may well make a reappearance one day, if the battery manages to stay alive for more than 5 minutes.
Panji's first trip to the Isle of Man. No comment from Panji on George's hairstyle at the time. As long as he's happy. On the dodgy phone, Panji's battery died as soon as she arrived in the Isle of Man and couldn't contact George. She had to find a Starbucks to charge her phone. Nightmare.

The first of many Panji's birthdays celebrated together. Leeds. This was a gin and rum festival. We got complimentary gin glasses that all ended up at Mimi's house. We've not seen the glasses since.

On our first trip abroad together. Agadir, Morocco. The first of Many adventures. Panji accidentally waxed the skin off her chin and George made a friend in the local market. The new friend forced George to sign and advertise his shop autograph book.

The first Christmas we spent together. We were accused of planning to have matching hairstyles but that was not the intention. George had twists, and Panji had a twist out. Clear distinction.

The first of many Georges birthdays celebrated together. Isle of Man. Panji arrived at 4pm and scrambled to find this cake in M&S before George finished work at 5PM. First time seeing each other since March 2020 due to covid. We had to get 3 buses to get to the park and then realised it was much quicker and cheaper to get a taxi. Walton park, Wakefield.

Our first ever boat trip together in the Isle of Man and Panji's first post covid trip to the Isle of Man. It was freezing and raining on that day. Would not recommend.

Trip to Paris after being stuck in the UK through covid. This is when Panji developed her obsession with holiday planning. We didn't book or research anything before this trip and weren't able to do much as a result.

On one of our adventures. Marrakesh. George was uneasy about Panji driving the bike. Panji is the more risk taking of the pair but she is also incredibly accident prone. George often has to be the voice of reason when she gets her bright ideas.

Soon after George proposed at the Bridgerton Orchestra. There are two versions of this proposal, and obviously Panji's version is the correct one. Panji's ring needed adjusting, twice. She nearly lost it on day 2 and George had to wear it on his pinky finger to keep it safe.

George excited about the purchase of his wedding suit in Naples. Fun fact: George loves shopping and Panji doesn't. Panji was knackered and intended to spend the day sleeping, but George came back with this bag and then dragged her out to get his wedding shoes. The things we do for love.

First and only Christmas as an engaged couple. Panji convinced George to wear matching jumpers although she refuses to wear matching clothes on any other day. At the very least, both agree that they are great Christmas jumpers.

George birthday trip to Lisbon. This trip was largely a disaster if we're honest. The weather was awful as it rained heavily the entire time. Both Panji and George got food poisoning half way though the trip and Panji fell and injured her knee. We still had a nice time though!

Panji's 40th birthday trip to Izmir, Turkey. We both returned from this trip with injuries of sorts. Panji returned with a sunburn from falling asleep by the pool and George with cuts on his toes from the ocean. We did get to see the stunning ruins of Ephesus so even the injuries were worth it.
